Regular reading (home and school) and continuation of All Aboard Reading Skills Programme.  Develop and extend vocabulary use in creative writing skills – e.g. style, use of complex, well punctuated sentences, paragraphs etc. and speech punctuation.  Narrative and journalistic writing and how to present a well balanced argument.  Spelling words to include revision of spelling rules.

Numeracy:

Counting, partitioning and calculating.

Number facts and shape.

Fractions.

Handling data and measures.

Tables’ test practice.

Science:

Separating solutions by sieving and filtering.  Saturated solutions.  Evaporation, condensation and dissolving.

History:

Religion in ancient Greece.  Greek Myths and Legends.

Theatres and architecture.

Geography:

Local issues.  Map work – planning routes and investigating scales

Technology:

Class 7 – Continuation of fairground rides.

Music:

Develop a multi-layered group composition.

Develop the use of accompaniments within vocal compositions.

Sing songs in two or more parts.

P.E:

Gymnastics.

Games – Hockey and Rugby.

Art:

Class 8 – Landscapes and painting.

R.E:

Sikhism 5 Ks and other Sikh symbols.  Stories based on the lives of the gurus.

I.C.T:

Computer control and monitoring.

P.S.H.E:

Raising self-esteem and relationships with others.

French:

Colour, numbers and common phrases.

Instructions and actions.

Homework:

Literacy worksheets every week.  Given on Monday to be handed in on Thursday.

Numeracy set on Thursday to be in on Tuesday.

Two or three other short pieces of work set as appropriate.

Tables – Children are tested regularly.

P.E. Kit – Games Tuesday – shin pads and long socks.

Indoor Wednesday.

Kit should be in school every day  please.

Art Activities – Old shirt or apron needed.
