Literacy:

Stories with a familiar setting – myths, legends, fairytales.  Report writing and note taking.

Singular/plural, adjectives and commas.  Spelling and handwriting.

Numeracy:

Place value, ordering, rounding, money.  Number patterns.  Shape, space, time, weight, reading scales, multiplication and division facts of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x and 10x tables.  Mental maths strategies in addition and subtraction.  Finding fractions of numbers.

Science:

Materials and their properties.  Planning and carrying out investigations.

History:

Everyday life in Celtic and Roman times.  Invasion and settlements.  What survived from the roman settlement of Britain .  Visit to the Corinium Museum, Cirencester.

Geography:

Not applicable this half term.

Technology:

Making and decorating jinks frames.  Investigating cereal packaging.

Music:

Create rhythmic patterns.

Develop knowledge of simple musical notation for use in rhythm compositions.

Identify repeated rhythmic patterns in a range of music.

P.E:

Gym – travelling and jumping, balance. 

Games – fitness.

Dance – dances based on cultural stimuli.

Art:

Designing and making mosaic patterns.

Observational drawing – chairs and people.

R.E:

Jesus’ life as told in the Gospels.

I.C.T:

Keyboard skills.

Introduction to databases: storing and sorting information.

P.S.H.E:

Going for goals (motivation and target setting).

French:

Alphabet, colours, French greetings, French songs.  Instructions and actions.

Homework:

Weekly spellings tested on Friday.  Learning tables.

Regular reading - 15 mins daily (Reading books to be taken home but must be in school every day with homework diary)

There will be 1 or 2 other tasks from other areas of the curriculum, usually set on a Thursday to be completed for the following Monday.
