RSPBs Big Bird Watch Results

Bird watch by Sam G & Benny D

It took place on 23rd January. 26 children took part with help from Sam's grandparents, Jenny and Trevor Woodage, who were in class 3 and Benny's mother, Alison D, who was by the entrance. We used binoculars to see birds whilst eating our lunch. The R.S.P.B. gave us a special sheet with pictures to help us record the birds. We had to see how many birds visited at one time. This is what we saw in the school grounds:

2 blackbirds

2 black-headed gulls

1 blue tit

3 carrion crows

1 chaffinch

1 coal tit

3 collared doves

1 goldfinch

3 magpies

2 pied wagtails

3 robins

4 starlings

7 woodpigeon

1 feral pigeon

At the end we had a paper bird puppet to make.

We had great fun!
