Oaklands answer to Jamie Oliver!!
Some of Oaklands Junior Year 5 pupils have been doing a 'Jamie Oliver' and been cooking!On February 6th, Michael Coaker, Chairman of Adopt-a-School Trust and venerable chef, joined some of our Year 5 pupils. He has been in school on previous occasions as part of our Healthy Schools Gold Award.
The dish of the day was Tomato and Mozzarella Tartlet with Mixed Leaf Salad.
The children cut out the pastry, pricked the base and brushed it with beaten egg. Then they added tomato and mozzarella slices and coated the edges of the pastry with an egg glaze.
To accompany the tartlet was a mix of rocket and mediterranean leaf salad, drizzled with olive oil.
